Apple announced … more than 900,000 apps available to customers. Furthermore, the company revealed it has paid out over $10 billion to third-party developers, half of that in the last year… For the sake of comparison, at last year’s WWDC, Apple said it had over 400 million accounts and 650,000 apps available in more than 120 countries. At the start of 2013, there were over 800,000 apps available.
At WWDC 2013, Apple announced it has sold over 600 million iOS devices… over 90 percent of iOS users are on the latest version, iOS 6
Apple now holds about 20 percent of the U.S. ebook market, director Keith Moerer said in court Tuesday… Most estimates had placed Apple’s U.S. ebook market share at around 10 percent, with Amazon’s Kindle at 50 to 60 percent and Barnes & Noble’s Nook at 25 percent. But Moerer said the iBookstore’s market share was 20 percent in the first few months after the iBookstore’s launch, Publishers Weekly reports, and is about 20 percent now. (If this is true, the other retailers’ market shares would need to be adjusted downward, since Google and Kobo likely hold 1 to 2 percent of the U.S. ebook market.) From PW:
One million songs were downloaded in the store’s first week, 25 million by the end of 2003, and one billion by February of 2006. iPod sales responded in kind, jumping from under one million in 2003 to over four million in 2004 to a staggering 22.5 million in 2005. By the time iPod sales reached their peak at nearly 55 million in 2008, the iTunes Store had supplanted Best Buy as the number one music retailer in the US. Less than two years later, in February of 2010, iTunes became the number one music retailer on the planet

If we consider all the devices Apple sells, the whittling becomes even more significant and the multiple drops to below 2. Seen this way, Post-PC devices wiped out of leverage faster than it was originally built. They not only reversed the advantage but cancelled it altogether.
Telling.
Five years ago, the iPhone didn’t exist. It now generates nearly $25 billion of revenue per quarter… it seems reasonable to suggest that the iPhone might be the most radically successful and disruptive product in history
the most important announcement Apple made at its World Wide Developers Conference two weeks ago was that the company now has 400 million credit cards on file — double last year’s total and more than any other online retailer, including Amazon
Apple turns over its inventory once every five days.
That’s part of why a new report from the technology research firm, Gartner, ranked Apple’s supply chain the best in the world. And it’s pretty amazing when you think about it. This is a company that sells hundreds of millions of hardware gadgets all over the world and yet it doesn’t actually need to stockpile its goods.
The only company on Gartner’s list of 25 companies that turns over its product faster is McDonald’s
a staggering two-thirds of Apple’s revenue now comes from products it has invented since 2007.
just 2 years after we shipped the initial iPad, we’ve sold 67 million. And to put that in some context, it took us 24 years to sell that many Macs and 5 years for that many iPods and over 3 years for that many iPhones.
1. Of iPhone 4s users, 62% use Siri for some function at least several times a week, including 35% of respondents who report daily use. The least used functions are playing a video, scheduling a meeting, or playing music.
newest iOS app, iPhoto, hit 1 million users in less than 10 days after its release
March 19, 2012―Apple® today announced it has sold three million of its incredible new iPad®, since its launch on Friday, March 16
Apple has sold 315 million “Post-PC” devices (read: iOS devices) in total. In just the past year, Apple sold 172 million of them. And last quarter alone, they sold 62 million, as they made up 76 percent of Apple’s revenues…
What’s more likely — 5 years from now, your primary home computing device is a PC? Or 5 years from now, your primary home computing device is a tablet? Just two years ago, this question would have been an absolute joke. Now it’s a joke to think it will take a full five years
Why is the new iPad called ‘iPad’ and not ‘iPad 3’, or something like that? Here’s one reason: Because, for the majority of the people who buy it, it will be their first iPad - not their second or third. Who wants to start a revolution with no. 3?
Apple could potentially sell 80 million iPads this year, about twice as many as it did last year, and more than the number of iPad 1s and iPad 2s combined
